Matt Sworder is the chef owner of The Corner House restaurant in Canterbury. He is passionate about supporting the local area and sources much of his produce from a 20-mile radius.
Matt opened The Corner House in Minster in 2013, at the age of 25. Within one year of opening, the restaurant appeared in The Waitrose Good Food Guide and achieved a listing in the Michelin Guide. It was named Best Kent Restaurant of the Year in the 2015 and 2017 in the Taste of Kent Awards. He opened his second restaurant The Corner House Canterbury in July 2016 and it soon received excellent reviews in the local and national media.
Always a firm favourite with our festival audience, Matt will be demonstrating one the restaurant’s favourites: herb crumb hake, warm tartare sauce and baby gem lettuce.
